  • CoastAdapt - The Sea as Our Neighbour: Sustainable Adaptation to Climate Change in Coastal Communities and Habitats on Europe’s Northern Periphery
  • CAVIAR - Community Adaptation and Vulnerability in the Arctic Regions
  • Noradapt in Norway. The project focuses on on Norwegian municipalities and how they are effected by climate change
  • VACCA - Vulnerability and Adapataion to Climate change in the Arctic
  • SpatialNorth  - A comprehensive toolbox of good practice spatial planning processes with particular emphasis on stakeholder participation.
  • ESPACE -  how adaptation to climate change can be incorporated into the spatial planning system.
  • ADAM  - (Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies: supporting European climate policy) is an integrated research project running from 2006 to 2009 that will lead to a better understanding of the trade-offs and conflicts that exist between adaptation and mitigation policies.
  • Northern WoodHeat - a Northern Periphery Programme funded project managed by Highland Birchwoods with partners in Scotland, Iceland and Finland. The project began in October 2004 and concluded in December 2007.  The aim of the Northern WoodHeat project was to encourage the establishment of small and medium scale wood fuel supply chains optimising benefits to local communities.
  • AdaptAlp - Transnational exchange and cooperation of; risk prevention and risk management methods, reducing uncertainities, efficiency of transnational risk management, the assessment of risks, raising awareness and supporting adaptation actions on local, regional, national and transnational levels,  improvement of knowledge to facilitate decision-making and implementation of pilot activities, and initiating individual adaptation strategies.
  • VACCIA (SYKE) will develop a vulnerability assessment of ecosystem services for climate change impacts and adaptation. Expected results include scenario development and derivation, database development, development and documentation of tools for vulnerability assessment (i.e. provision of GMES services based on satellite data), and inventories of adaptation measures.
  • BaltCICA (Climate Change: Impacts, Costs and Adaptation in the Baltic Sea Region) is designed to focus on the most imminent problems that climate change will cause in the Baltic Sea Region; changes in the occurrence of floods (river floods as well as storm surges) and sea level rise caused by climate change as well as impacts on water availability and quality can be expected to become imminent. The project will look at the assessment of the impacts, the development, appraisal and implementation of adaptation measures (structural ones as well as organisational and institutional measures), concrete adaptation measures are going to be tested and implemented.
  • AMICA - The aim of the European project AMICA is to develop local and regional strategies which adopt a comprehensive approach to climate change. Climate policy should be an optimum blend of short- and long-term preventive and reactive measures, thus reducing future planning risks.
  • The CIRCE Integrated Project, funded under the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme, aims to reach this objective, highlighting impacts and possible adaptation actions of the climate change in the Mediterranean region, that includes Europe, North Africa and Middle East.
  • MELIA project (Mediterranean Dialogue on Integrated Water Management, Contract FP6 517612) dedicated to technological perspectives for rational use of water resources in the Mediterranean region.
  • ClimChAlp  (Climate Change, Impacts and Adaptation Strategies in the Alpine Space) - The ClimChAlp Interreg III B Alpine Space project aims at supporting the political decisions regarding protection and natural disasters prevention due tue climate change in the Alps.
  • The objective of the PESETA project (Projection of Economic impacts of climate change in Sectors of the European Union based on boTtom-up Analysis) is to make a multi-sectoral assessment of the impacts of climate change in Europe for the 2011-2040 and 2071-2100 time horizons.
