Aims:

1) Show how climate change adaptation can be mainstreamed at the community level, and what is the role  of local government in this emerging area
2) Bring together and present Clim-ATIC lessons – challenges and opportunities
3) Promote the outcome of Clim-ATIC – training course in climate change adaptation
4) Explore future opportuniites in the Northern Periphery

- 2 day seminar and round-table debates
- Poster exhibition at conference venue
- Local excursions
- Conference dinner with cultural activities
- 1 day adaptation excursion (post-conference)

- Local and regional politicians, EU/Nordic level policymakers, National Climate Change organisations
- Community stakeholders, teachers
- Organisers of other existing or future EU adaptation projects
- Northern Periphery Programme (NPP) representatives
- Clim-ATIC participants and partners, Clim-ATIC co-financing organisations, Clim-ATIC Regional Support Group representatives

Costs

The event, including lunches, coffee breaks and the conference dinner, will be free to attend for all participants. 

Clim-ATIC project  partners, associated partners and co-financers will get a refund on travel and accommodation expenses. Invited speakers will also a get a refund on travel and accommodation expenses. All other delegates will have to cover their own travel, accommodation and non conference meal expenses.  There will also be a small payment required to cover the 1 day excursion costs.
